Although spread over 25 long years, Pankow have certainly had an active career. In 1988 they stunned Europe with the release of “Freiheit Fur Die Sklaven”, and two years later further confirmed their talent with the release of the incredible “Gisela”. Soon after, a live album, “Onme Animal Triste Post Coitum”, was released with tracks recorded in the USA and all over Europe, followed by the controversial and beautiful “Treue Hunde”. Alex’s departure for Australia brought everything to a halt, and the self-titled “Pankow” is released, an episode condemned even by the band itself…

Pankow’s seventh official release, “Great Minds Against Themselves Conspire”, is finally released, three years after their “Life Is Offensive And Refuses To Apologise”. “Life Is Offensive…” gave the band the stability and self-awareness to take things in the right direction. All that was superfluous and deceiving had been eliminated. In this new reality we find “Great Minds…” a sort of concept album without plot, the result of that happy precedent. Recorded between Florence, Italy and Wangaratta, Australia, with Massimo Michelotti (original member of Pankow in 1982 - now back after more than 20 years), their sound is enriched and takes on unexpected shapes. The band itself regards this as the best album they have ever done…and maybe it’s true!

Best known in the industry as a member of the very popular EBM band Icon of Coil, Andy LaPlegua is a man with an insatiable appetite for music. His experience with numerous genres before his involvement in Icon of Coil has given LaPlegua the knowledge and skills necessary to not only remain a major part of the scene but also continue to push the envelope in every project he�s involved in. Originally a part of several scenes in Norway, LaPlegua experimented with hip-hop in the Detroit/Old School band LAW, industrial in Devils Into Crime (DIC), punk in My Right Choice(MRC)/Fleshfire and metal in Lash Out. He also found interest in trance and club music making his mark on the scene with his involvement in the bands Plastic Life and Sector9. Eventually LaPlegua decided to start his own project, Icon of Coil, originally participating as the sole member before working with Sebastian Komor.

In 2003 LaPlegua formed Combichrist, a side project much more aggressive than Icon of Coil with an electro-industrial sound and released the band�s noisy debut The Joy of Gunz.

Having not satisfied his craving for harsh sounds and hard hitting beats, LaPlegua created Panzer AG. Combining power noise elements with dance fueled beats, Panzer AG creates a distinct and unique sound amidst the monotony of the electronic music scene. This Is My Battlefield, the band�s debut album, features 15 loud and scathing tracks, which pound ruthlessly from beginning to end. Incorporating a mix of industrial, noise and trance elements, This Is My Battlefield provides a generous blend of genres and languages, as it switches between German and English, in turn producing an addictive sound. To couple Medieval music with modern rock,
sounded quite �strange� and weird some years ago, when IN EXTREMO were the
pioneering act, to combine these completely different styles of music. It
turned out to be a winning combination though for the Berlin based band, and
since 1996 IN EXTREMO belong to the most successful acts of this genre. The
7 musicians each play several, mostly hand-made instruments � apart of
classic �rock guitars�, their set also includes Flutes, harps, hornpipes and

After thousands (more or less�) of years of silence, Germany�s most popular
NDW (New German Wave) electro act WELLE: ERDBALL returns with what is being
announced as their most �complete� and �best� broadcast ever! �Chaos Total�
is the first official output after their (Vinyl-only) release
�Horizonterweiterungen� and their EP �Nur tote Frauen sind sch�n� (only dead
women are beautiful�)! The name �Chaos Total� reflects very well the
contents of this new album. With over 20 new songs and a playing time far
beyond 70 minutes, the album is packed with innovations, gimmicks and that
particular sense of humour, for which WELLE: ERDBALL are famous for, but
that is fully understandable � and enjoyable - for German speaking
listeners only. Most songs are � as usual � in German language, although
there is at least ONE track with �lyrics� in the morse code and another one
with French lyrics: A very �unique� adaption of the France Gall/Serge
Gainsbourg � classic �Poup�e de Cire, Poup�e de Son�!
As always with WELLE: ERDBALL, the legendary Commodore 64-computer plays a
prominent role in the creation of the songs, and all tracks have that
special �NDW�-feeling for which the band is famous for � 80ies revival at

�Relocated� is a smart title for their seventh album, combining old times
and new ones. The album also mixes a positive attitude with the melancholia
that is so typical of this band. �It�s a feeling we carry inside us,� Marcus
notes, adding: �I feel more comfortable in minor than in major key.� The
inspirations for titles such as �Dreaming� and �Motif Sky� stem from the
early Nineties, underwent a complete overhaul and feature a whole new

When Mute Records asked world famous techno artist, Terence Fixmer, to remix Nitzer Ebb in 2002, they had no idea that this venture would lead to the formation of a new project: Fixmer/McCarthy, especially since Douglas McCarthy, former singer of Nitzer Ebb had been out of the music scene for nearly seven years. None the less, this collaboration has brought together two talented artists from vastly different backgrounds to create a refreshing and exciting new electronic sound as well as an amazing stage presence.
For ten years Terence Fixmer has been involved in the techno scene, but it wasn't until 1998 that he was signed to Gigolo Records. With this record deal, Fixmer was able to produce many hits including "Electrostatic," "Body Pressure," and "Electric Vision" and his album Muscle Machine was voted as one of the top three albums of the year by Groove Magazine. He has remixed tracks for Sven Vath, Dave Clarke and Hell, but his popularity has been attributed mainly to his awesome live performances which combine both techno and EBM. Besides appearing at the best known techno clubs around the world, Terence Fixmer has also played at a number of the world's largest music events and festivals including I Love Techno, May Day, Nature One, Pukkelpop, Dour Festival, and Benicassim.

In the mid to late 90s, while Terence Fixmer was immersed in the techno scene, Douglas McCarthy was for the most part out of the music industry, focusing on film and design in Cambridge, England. But such was not the case for McCarthy during the 80s and early 90s. In 1982 McCarthy founded Nitzer Ebb, an avant-garde electronic band, which released several global club hits prior to signing to Mute Records in 1986. The band, like Terence Fixmer, was known for their incredible stage presence, with McCarthy's voice bringing power and popularity to their performance. The band toured almost nonstop to promote the five albums they released from 1987 to 1995, but after the last US tour for the 1995 album "Big Hit," Nitzer Ebb called it quits. Douglas McCarthy worked with Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode after the band split, but decided to take a break from the music scene for a while to concentrate on studying film and design. In 2000, McCarthy moved back to London to work as a director and assistant director in advertising.

Then Fixmer and McCarthy met in 2002 and the rest is, as they say, history. Fixmer/McCarthy will release their corrosive debut album Between the Devil... in 2004 and will dazzle crowds with their amazing live performances in the near future.
